End of Rat, Comes the Ox...

It is time to bid farewell again & a new year will be embraced & welcome by everyone soon. Past will always be nostalgia & the future will always be a new hope for everyone. Every mistake must be amended & never be repeated.

In the year 2008, there are joyful & sorrowful events. Proud moments can be seen too specifically during the Beijing Olympic. In political wise, the government has been triggered by the country’s Tsunami election of March 8. The World Economic downfall, earthquakes, floods & landslides have causes great impact to human beings. These circumstances & events will surely leave an imprint on someone’s heart. It can never be erased that easily. Only prayers, forgiveness & hopes are the cures to these wounds.

No one knows the future, it will always be mysterious & the year 2009 will indeed be another journey of it. Predictions can never be made or foretold of what’s going to be; only dreams & hopes can be created. So, lets all pray & hope for the best & welcome the year of the Ox with full of spirit & joy…..

Happy 2009! ^v^

Gribbles, PJ

Two months have past since I left Gribbles, PJ. It’s been a great experience. Working life has never been that easy as it seems. I understand that in order to excel & be the best, we must equip ourselves with knowledge & skills or else we’re nothing.

I’ve encountered various degrees of human attitudes, regardless of their status. In the real world, acceptance, forgiveness & improvements are necessary for oneself.

Life in PJ was tough during the first 2 weeks. It seems so dragging, like in the poem “Life Breath Candle” by William Shakespeare & I was wondering when will my miserable life end…. However, my days weren’t that bad, thanks to Gribbles staffs, friends & those scrumptious food in PJ. ^^
The HODs’ in every department has an unfriendly look because of their firm & disciplined personality. Seeing them smile is just like walking on cloud 9, as they really do looked adorable! ^^ My greatest regret was never getting the chance to bid farewell to Mr. Mohan (Head of Biochemistry Department), as I was rushing back to pack my stuffs in preparation to go back home. Without him, I don’t think I’m able to score distinctions. Thank you very much Mr. Mohan, I’ll always appreciate your kind deeds & knowledge. Besides the HOD, I would like to express my gratitude to the pathologists and the staffs as well. Their never ending guidance and endeavor will always be remembered & appreciated.

Training in Gribbles was nostalgia & these nostalgic memories will always stays with me.

(Up) My dad's worked, with his pumpkin usage!
(Middle) My mom's creation, using pineapple to prepare "tang yuan".
(Down) My own yogurt "tang yuan" ^^

It happens every year before the beginning of a new year especially for the Chinese. Making “tang yuan” (glutinous rice ball) is a must as it symbolize unity among families & friends.

My family & I, excluded my brother have entered “Creative Tang Yuan Making Competition 2008” at Shaw Plaza in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur on the 20th December. Altogether there were 30 participants with loaded enthusiasm.

I’ve always loved to imagine & create weird recipes, but creativeness wasn’t downloaded in me! So I’ve to crack & dig files in my brain even when in dreams to create my secret recipe that will lead me to winning. Recipe wasn’t the tough ones, but the task in searching for the ingredients.

Mixing “tang yuan” with yogurt wasn’t a bad idea after all. Guess I’m the first in the world who uses yogurt as my main “tang yuan” preparation. In my yogurt; raisins, pieces of oranges, crushed peanuts & coco powder were mixed and added, & nevertheless, my green “tang yuan” as well. Hoping for the best, I thought I will walk away with the 1st prize hamper; but unfortunately, it wasn’t to be. I had lost to my pride & my unskilled hands in making the dough -_-! & end up surrendering to my dad who is the 1st runner up. Of course laaa…. coz he uses the pumpkin (can be seen in the picture above) Look so tempting & delicious right?!

Anyway, I’m proud & happy with him. ^^

Though I’ve lost, I’m still happy, as I got to see my family on TV during the news programmes.

Losing will never halt me from entering future competitions. I’ve promise myself to upgrade my capabilities & try again next time with more zest!

So, catch me up next time folks, I’ll be the champion!!!!
